I used to work as a researcher in biology. I did my PhD in Paris, followed by a three-year postdoc in Germany. My six-year experience in an academic setting provided me with expertise not only in theoretical and experimental biology, programming and office software, but also in writing and proofreading scientific articles in both English and French. 

Since June 2017, I decided to leave science behind me and to start working as a freelance translator.

"Well", you must be thinking. "That's a rather atypical profile right there". And you would be right. But what all these years in academic research taught me are three things:

• To be extremely independent when it comes to work. I will learn about your project's background so I can better grasp specific terms.
• Communicate with my collaborators and respect deadlines. I will keep an open dialogue with you throughout the project and will integrate your feedback.
• Use the right tool for the job. I will translate your project using industry standard software (CAT tools), and will thus make sure to retain the original layout of your document as well as maintain consistency of specific terms' usage.

I usually charge around 0.06 €/word or 0.08 USD/word, and I average around 350 words per hour. However, keep in mind that my rates are subject to change depending on the source material and the urgency of the task, so don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your project!
