I’ve had two jobs in my life. The first job I had was at Petsmart in Pittsburg, CA. I started there in October 2006 when I was 17 years old as a cashier. I left there in March 2009. My job title at the time I left was that of Pet Care Manager. The next job I started in June 2009 was at KGA Business Consultants dba Gav’s Auto Care (a small business owned and operated by a married couple) in Walnut Creek, CA and was there for 6 years. Once again I started as a cashier, and throughout my years there I learned to fill almost all the different positions available to work there (except for mechanic, although I performed the role of Service Writer and managed the shop pretty regularly on an as needed basis and would help them perform some of their simpler tasks). While there I essentially became the assistant to the owners and helped them with day to day operations and anything that came up as they expanded the business by obtaining a dealership license during my third year working there, and a boat and RV storage lot shortly before the start of my last year working there. In 2015 I left my job due to experiencing an onset of symptoms from an unknown medical problem. An official diagnosis took two years to obtain. In 2017 I filed a supplemental social security claim, and have since been trying to appeal a denial. In the mean time I’ve been trying to find what work I can do from home, which I plan to continue doing, on a part time basis, whether or not I eventually get my claim approved.
