We are a global recruitment process outsourcing provider contracted by various employers to provide end-end recruitment activities, including reference checking. Roles and responsibilities I was conducting employee background verification. Calling the Australian candidate’s referee’s/previous employer on behalf of the new employer and conduct candidate’s reference check and ensuring that the appropriate background check(s) conducted. I was meanwhile notifying the employee or final candidate of the type of background check. That he/she will receive electronic communication from the hiring team requesting that he/she complete an online background disclosure and authorization form and an applicant’s self-reported convictions form. If the employee or final candidate did not have access to a computer or has no email address, then the appointing authority is • • • • responsible for obtaining completed and signed forms necessary to authorize a background check from the applicant and forward these documents to HR. I was finally submitting the employee’s or final candidate’s reference check report to the Human Resources Department. I was playing a pivotal role in deciding whether to offer employment to the final candidate based on the background check and resulting recommendation. Ensuring the appropriate background checks have been completed before entering data for new appointments into the personnel/payroll system. Reviewing the background check report and advising the appointing authority that the final candidate is clear or when the final candidate presents a potential risk to the company. If the final candidate fails to respond within the specified period, I was then issuing a second notice informing the candidate that he/she no longer considered for the position. Once the ref check completed and if the candidate passes the reference check, then finally preparing the report and forward it to the onshore recruitment team for clearance.
