Zena Marion

Zena Achieng is a communications and project management professional with extensive experience in leading international training programs, managing grant-funded initiatives, and facilitating cross-cultural collaborations. She currently serves as a Programme Officer at JournalismAI, where she supports newsrooms around the world in experimenting with and implementing AI technologies through the JournalismAI Innovation Challenge, supported by the Google News Initiative.

Previously, Zena was a Program Associate at the Journalism Centre on Global Trafficking, where she played a key role in coordinating and implementing initiatives to meet organisational goals. Zena successfully led impactful projects across Africa and Asia, contributing to significant global outcomes.

Additionally, she serves as an Event Host at Hela Storytellas, an initiative dedicated to promoting financial literacy. In this role, she has collaborated on the coordination and execution of four event series, employing live discussions and digital content to educate audiences on financial matters.
