Mediclinic Constantiaberg is a 210-bed acute care facility with a broad range of specialities and
specialized nursing units. I started this position just 3 weeks after returning from traveling overseas
and taking some time off after working and studying continuously for many years. I applied for this
position as I knew my clinical knowledge would not go to waste. Working in a clinical setting has
always appealed to me, especially since I decided not to pursue nursing. I have been in this role for
2 and a half years and have had ongoing training in the coding field, as well as creating and getting
involved in other initiatives at work, including wellness and quality improvements.

This position was a new one which evolved over time. I had a broad role and what was expected of
me changed daily. Efficiency and prioritizing were key. I enjoyed the challenge and always delivered to
the best of my ability. I feel very strongly about customer service which is at the core of this industry. I
left Carecross to take a necessary break (September 2015 – September 2016) after many years of
working and studying full time. I submitted my resignation 6 months in advance to prepare the
department for my departure.
