About

Due to my versatile interests in politics, literature, travel + food and fitness, I'm seeking flexible opportunities to jumpstart my career as both a technical and creative writer. As I build my portfolio and writing experience in the future, I would like to lean more towards writing case studies, articles and blogs revolving around politics and culture in the Middle East, guide recommendations involving travel and food, and up to date information on vegan and plant based diets.

Graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Economy, I naturally gravitated towards opportunities involving technical political and grant writings. My professional experience has involved working as a project and legal assistant in the legal and philanthropy industries. This gave me the tools to properly and thoroughly conduct research and policy analysis, gain an objective understanding of the material and execute summaries and proposals in my own concise words. As a result, I would fit properly for any role involving in-depth research and analysis in order to gather information and create summaries. More importantly, it allowed me to immensely build my grant, legal and proposing writing skills as well as strengthening my already-existent attention to details. Since I am used to creative writing and embellishing words, I learned how to how to take out the redundant junk from a paper in order to compress it to only its essential parts. It was tough at first but it was something I had to master since I plan on attending law school in a couple of years. Although the bulk of the work was objective, I would sometimes have to create flyers and compelling announcements whenever my philanthropy organization would throw an event. This helped me express my creative side more, albeit to a small degree.

My professional experience has mostly dealt with technical and objective writing but I still am a literature aficionado and avid creative writer at heart. English class has always been my favourite and I made sure to take some creative writing classes during my undergraduate. My creative experience has mostly consisted of writing book reviews, journaling, writing poetry and travel recommendations, thus not leaving me with much to showcase my talents. However, my goal in starting this profile is to get a head start on my creative writing career and build a portfolio in the process
