Worked in an Outpatient setting with all types of patients. Focused on providing excellent patient care and customer service. This consisted of the following: entering Physician’s requisition slips, collecting insurance information along with patients’ personal information, drew blood, collected other kinds of specimens, performed drug screenings, answered phone calls for different situations, lastly stocked up our work stations and prepared specimens for courier pickup.

floated from various doctor’s offices that included different specialties. checked patients in and out, verified patients’ insurance, followed physician’s requisition slips, drew patients’ blood and also collected other types of specimens, helped with processing specimens bringing them to their proper department and made sure what was brought from any outpatient sites was exactly in the courier bag and participated in training new hires. average draw a day 40 plus patients.

Travelled to different patient units and was responsible for drawing blood on average 30 plus patients, performed electro cardio grams (EKG’s), registered patient’s lab tests into our computer software called Cenergy and printed their labels, collected urine specimens, stool samples and cultures. Centrifuged specimens, did a count of the amount drawn in the mornings, made a transfer list for courier pickup, answered phone calls with customers various questions, maintained lab stocked, in order and clean, accepted outpatients for draws and specimen drop offs.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook. Medisoft Cerner, Copia and Athena software. CPR certified.
Bilingual in Spanish, fluently reading and writing it as well.

Activities
I just am an overall good person that likes to help others. I love giving back by helping anyone the best I can. If someone is in need, I am there to give any way I can. I want to continue giving of myself to others and bettering myself to be able to succeed in anything I do career wise. I am a home body; I love spending time with my son and my dogs. On the side I enjoy dog walking/pet sitting. If I can just spend the day relaxing and reflecting on life, I am all for it.
