B.E Project : Network Intrusion Detection System Using Genetic Algorithm
The project describes a technique of applying Genetic Algorithm (GA) to Intrusion Detection System (IDS). A brief overview of the Intrusiuon Detection System , Genetic Algorithm is presented. Parameters and evolution process for GA are discussed. Unlike other implementation of the same problem, this implementation considers both temporal and spatial information of network connections in encoding the network connection information into the rules in IDS. This is helpful for identification of complex anomolous behaviours. This project focuses on the TCP/IP network protocols.
Objective: To detect intrusion in the system.
