It is a manufacturer of Industrial & domestic plastic products. The major product ranges from Storage Tanks, Care Wares & Furniture, Pen, Pencils, Food Packs, and the recycling of waste plastic products. The company sells its products to end-users and retailers through distributors. It has 6 manufacturing units in Nigeria and two Manufacturing units in Ghana. Roles & Responsibilities-: It is a typical manufacturing company with a distinctive and intricate business procedure that presents difficulties for any ERP and IT specialist. The organization has more than 20 distinct kinds of clients, numbering more than 6,000 in total. There are more than 900 raw materials, each with a different quality and color, and no standard BOM, machine, cycle time, etc. ratio. Example: One item can be produced using multiple machines, therefore once a mould is changed, the capacity of the machine will also change. Delivered all the solutions, and both top management and the bottom line accepted them. I was the only Techno-Functional resource (In-House) and was responsible for the project without any outside agency. ERP Project- Completed Dynamics NAV Project with the following major modules and activities- Sales & Marketing: - This area had very complicated activities in terms of Customer Discounts, Incentives, Month End Discounts, Turn Over Achievement Discounts, etc. everything differed from category to category, city to city even product to product. The solution was not available in the Standard Navision. We got the solution through customization which has been fully integrated with all other functional areas. Customized additional capabilities for approval, dispatch, and monitoring for all incentives, duties, and discounts outside invoice and line discounts. Fully integrated with the sales and finance modules, customized add-on capabilities automate the posting of incentives, discounts, and additional salesperson incentives. The company has a number of sales depots spread out over the nation, and each depot offers different prices, discounts, and incentives. solutions that had been customized and completely integrated with other functional areas. Production: - Using planning tools and daily actual production orders to meet client needs and the demands of a fiercely competitive market. Inventory valuation, posting inventory costs to GL, work center and machine center costing, indirect and overhead costing, production order costing, etc. The Bill of Materials did not specify any specific Raw Materials, Master Batches, or Quantities. Depending on stock levels, raw materials can be altered at any time, and if raw materials vary, so do the quantities and ratios of consumption. Due to the numerous colors of a single item, the company produces color-specific items but did not want to preserve colors in ERP. Consuming color-wise masterbatches was therefore extremely difficult. A specific Machine for an item didn't exist. Because each item can be manufactured by any machine, it was particularly challenging to describe machines and their cycle times because machine capacity will vary depending on the many moulds and cavities used. With the use of many reports, including OEE, Mold Leads, Machine Ledgers, etc., a suitable solution has been developed. With more than 300 machines creating more than 350 different items each day, the company has a limited workforce. The posting of the production output, consumption, and other data was taking more than 3 to 4 hours. The lack of a set BOM availability and other factors made the request for raw materials one of the biggest issues. solutions were given, resulting in up to 50%-time savings in planning and output posts through various adaptations of existing capabilities. Fully connected with Fixed Assets, General Ledgers, and other functional areas with the ability to customize the entire maintenance functionality for machines, molds, recording fuel and gas consumption, other periodic operations, maintaining a maintenance history, etc. Finance -: General Ledgers, Dimensions Management, Reporting, and Recurring Journals. Standard Navision does not have inbuilt Import functionality, so this was the main challenge. We offered a complete solution with all the necessary features, such as customs duty, clearing and landing costs, insurance, shipping costs, container tracking, and shipping costs.
