Vidhi Ghai

I am a student of Master of Communication at Deakin University with Journalism and Television as my majors and I am ready for my final trimester of the course in 2020 and I look forward to developing myself as a professional in the field.

I am seeking a vacancy in the field of writing, producing on various media platforms and develop my skills experienced professionals.

I have close enough experience in the editorial department as a journalist and reporter. I have worked on various projects, including covering, being a field correspondent, on special story packages and doing fact checks. I also worked on my own stories on the education beat, as well as on the arts and culture beats of the newspaper. I contributed to a weekly column of the Art and Culture section’s feature page. With this, I have developed my skills increasing my efficiency in both independent and collaborative tasks.

I have also had some experience as a radio host and social media manager, working with SBN School of Broadcasting, at 3WBC Radio – Box Hill. I have been part of the production of the cultural show along with co-hosting shows.

Working with Deakin University ‘ s Research Communication team has provided me with some hands-on experience with the camera and broadcasting area of the profession. As an intern, I was the producer, editor and actor for Deakin Disruptr’s video content. I have worked on my project along with a few of the collaborative jobs. Working under Cable Williams, I improved myself with the camera , shooting interviews and conferences and filming. As a producer and editor, I was independent to present my story with the project. Having my name as a producer and editor for the Consumer spyware and its effect on domestic abuse is the work I am proud of. My skills include video editing using various editing software, audio recording and editing using Audacity. I am good at organizing and planning, along with collecting data and fact check. Combined with the necessary computer skills, I am good at performing during a crisis. With the completion of my master's degree in 2020, I wish to work in Australia for a while to put my skills in use.

Learning about the other mediums of the profession in Australia have made me passionate about multimedia and transmedia aspect, which I wish to pursue as my career. In this time I have gained some skills in the production of video and audio content, to complement my skills and previous long experience in print media.
