Additional information
From 01/10/1999 until 16/01/2000 I studied at the Karl – Franzens University in Graz, Austria as a scholar of the ERASMUS/ SOCRATES International Student Exchange Program. I studied comparative literature and delivered an assignment entitled “Psychosisdarstellung in R. B. Hoffmann’s und F. Kafka’s Werke, insbesondere “ Die Strafkolonie” und „Der Tod Georg’s“ „.
I delivered classes at the 1st Gymnasio Panorama and at the Goethe Institut of Thessaloniki as a part of my university training and delivered a dissertation covering the didactical, practical and educational aspects of this teaching practice.
I served in the Hellenic Navy from 10/01/2005 for a year. From 16/03/2005 until the end of my duties I was stationed at the Hellenic Navy Detachment (HNDK) in Kiel, Germany, where I served as a Translator/ Interpreter for the Navy's new submarine programme under NATO SECRET security clearance.
I am a member of the photography group f14 and have participated in two group exhibitions. In December 2017 I exhibited my first solo work titled “accelerated light” at the gallery of f14. I also participated at the 1st International Science Fiction Conference at the Aristotle's University in Thessalonica with main subject "Biotechnology and cloning". Participation in the 1st Polyglot Conference, 18-19/05/2013 in Budapest and the 4th in Thessaloniki, 2017.
I am volunteer with the NGO “Médecins du monde” In 2007 and again in 2009 I participated in the amateur rally series “Street Safari” (2007 was “The Italian Job” and 2009 was “Calais2Casablanca”). In my free time I read books and write short stories in English and Greek, listen to music, read and collect comic books and watch movies. My hobbies include swimming, chess and videogames.
I was initiated in gaming playing on a Commodore 64 with a tape-recorder and rewinding the tape countless times while struggling to finish Turrican II. After that came the NES, Sega Mega Drive, PS, PS2,PS3 and back to PC with CS, Deus Ex, Diablo I+II,C+C, AOE 2, Quake 3, COD 2, MW 1+2, the list goes on and on… I have played almost every game there is out there, I am following the game industry very closely – have active accounts in most major gaming sites [Edge, Eurogamer, Gamespy, Gamasutra, RPS, etc] and a blog – livingbesideme.wordpress.com. I participated in numerous closed and open beta tests (closed: SW:TOR, World of Tanks, Family Guy Online, Tribes: Ascend, BSGO, Blacklight: Retribution, Glitch, C&C online, Smite, Planetside 2) and also in the alpha test of Trion’s “End of Nations”.
