Position: Project Officer
Duties:
As the project officer my role is to work towards stopping and ending Sexual Gender
Based Violence in Busia County.
This I do through advocacy and lobbying for human rights especially women and girls
who are victims of Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
I have also managed to contact relevant stakeholders and managed to form a Gender
Task Force in Busia which came up with the Busia zero draft policy on gender based
violence.
Developing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and monitoring their
timely execution.
Resource mobilization including proposal writing.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual narrative and financial reports (in consultation
with the project accountant) on the project’s progress.
Developing and dissemination of project monitoring tools to monitor project’s
progress.
Organize for workshops, seminars and conferences.

Duties:
As the MEAL officer my duties included monitoring of all the Orphans and
Vulnerable Children (OVC) and their households and ensuring that they receive all
the bench marks needed i.e. Safe, Stable, Schooled and Healthy by receiving different
interventions from the project and eventually graduating from the project as stable
households that can sustain themselves.
Ensured that accurate data was collected and entered into the Child Information
Management System (CPIMS) by the data assistants whom I directly supervised. In
addition to this I ensured data cleaning of all data in the system and maintained the
physical files of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children case files at the office.
Ensured design and roll out of standardized forms and tools for collection of relevant
data. I ensured compliance of the organization with donor policies, procedures and
standards.
Prepared timely monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports were well written
and were submitted on time to the donor.
