Usman Munir

I’m Usman Munir, a Senior Software Engineer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in backend and full-stack web development. I currently work at CarSwitch, a Gulf-based automotive platform, where I’ve been part of a dynamic engineering team since March 2021. My focus has been on building multilingual web platforms, backend APIs, scalable infrastructure, and integrating third-party services into PHP (Yii2/Laravel) applications.

At CarSwitch, I’ve designed and implemented key systems like dynamic translation modules using Strapi CMS, vehicle data fetching via Mojaz (KSA) APIs, car reservation systems, and role-based access controls. I’ve optimized performance by refactoring Yii2 backend, caching with Redis, improving SQL queries, and reducing load times significantly. My work also involves integration with Zoho CRM, Trengo, and Respond.io for real-time notifications and user communication.

Before that, I worked at Servixon (UK) from August 2020 to March 2021 as a Full Stack Developer, where I contributed to 5+ full lifecycle PHP Laravel projects using Livewire, jQuery, and MySQL. I also worked on deployment automation and system performance enhancements. I started my journey at Smart Developers as an intern in 2019 where I built PHP and WordPress sites and gained foundational skills.

My stack includes PHP, Laravel, Yii2, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, REST APIs, GraphQL, Git, and Agile methodology. I’m also familiar with Node.js and React.js.

I value quality, performance, and team collaboration. I’m not only a developer — I’ve led small modules, mentored juniors, and taken responsibility for full features, from planning to deployment. I’m fluent in English, Urdu, and French (basic). My goal is to help businesses by building stable, scalable, and user-focused web applications.
