Usman Ali

Working as a Research Assistant at National Center for Big Data and Cloud Computing. A little bit about me, I have studied Electrical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. I am a self-taught software developer having major expertise in web-based solutions ranging from Front-end to Full-stack engineering.

In a professional capacity, I have developed solutions which included automation, static websites, web scrapers, applications with extensive use of micro controllers integrated with custom developed GUI, assisted final year projects of students upon advice from the faculty and produced quality solutions with the use of cutting-edge databases and tools. I have used Python, C++, C, and, JavaScript to achieve complex challenges.

As a student, I was average in studies. I spent a lot of my time learning new tools and technologies, education at the university did not impress me, maybe because alongside many were doing the same. I also participated in an annual competition for Start-up Ideas hosted by the local body of IEEE and was awarded the best community-driven idea. From there on my journey to implement my idea started and to pursue that I went on attaining knowledge and networked extensively. This networking landed me to work on a contract basis with various top organizations including IoBM, HEC, NEDUET and a few local companies like LEHR.
