Tim Timmons -| - IT Director – Systems/Network/Security Administrator – IT Consultant 3 ADDITIONAL NOTES I have been working as an IT consultant since 2003 servicing many small businesses and nonprofit organizations using the knowledge I have obtained through my experience. These has afforded me the opportunity to be in a highly diverse set of environments, each with its own unique needs and obstacles. In every challenge, there has been something learned that is applicable in other settings. As of 2017, elected by my peers, I have served as co-chair for the SCASA Technology Roundtable, tasked with monthly meetings to help educate, inform, prepare, and engage all of the technology directors in the state of South Carolina. This position has allowed me to develop personal relations with districts much larger than myself, some with similar technology needs, and other with resources I can use in my own environment. I liaison with The SC Department of Education, SC Department of Admin Services, SLED, FBI, and various of government agencies on data, security, network connectivity, and resources to assist districts. This has also opened the door to work with many outside partners in varying fields such as endpoint security, network security, penetration and system testing consultants, hardware providers, cloud service providers, and much more. Our biggest concern in the last two years has been security. Infections that encrypt data and ransom for thousands of dollars, data accessed by outside agencies, and securing from inside breaches have been the majority of my research over the last two years. I have worked with the SC Department of Education, and taken part with other outspoken districts to bring more solutions to assist with developing security policies and identifying needs. Thank you for taking the time to review my application, and I look forward to hearing from you.
