INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER, INSTRUCTOR, & WRITER June 2006 – May 2010 (based out of NORWAY) Instructional Designer Consultant This has been my area of specialisation for over three years, when I relocated to Norway in 2006. I continued to work as a consultant in elearning and instructional designing, in my independent capacity. I analysed learner needs, client requirements, and learning gaps, developed and reviewed storyboards, and created various training design documents for several reputed Indian and international organisations. My previous experiences with InfoPro Corporation (primarily ran NETg Thomson projects and K-12 courses) and GE Content Solutions (GENPACT) equipped me to develop courses for healthcare, business, management, and soft skills development. My knack for tackling difficult content and delivering error free courses won me several awards and steady group of patrons over the years. I also worked as a Language Competence Trainer and conducted classroom sessions on writing styles and instructional designing, imparting training for certification and competitive courses in English, such as IELTS and TOEFL, and general conversational and business English for Norwegian corporate organisations. Web content developer I developed SEO Web content, sales and marketing oriented content, brochures, newsletters, and blogs for a varied clientele. I remained a Zero-Defect Champion in the content development group. TEAM LEAD, ID - INFOPRO CORP November 2003 - March 2005 (based out of New Delhi) I learned all about elearning, on the job, while working at InfoPro. I worked on NETg Thomson projects, both in the technical and soft skill domains. Projects included developing CBTs on DB2, MS Server 2003, Sheshunoff, Consumer Courses, Oracle10g & 11i, Java, and Cisco. My role included leading teams of designers and programmers towards designing effective instructional content, analysing content and context, designing the macro flow and structure of content according to learning theories, develop storyboards and implement design specifications, interact closely with subject matter experts on technical and design issues, review, prepare, and finalise courses for delivery, and finally addressing client feedbacks/suggestions. I also conducted in-house training sessions with focus on standards, writing styles, and project orientation. I managed several Consumer Course Projects over their entire life cycle - from designing the content outline to client delivery. The courses had zero error; received the Star Employee of the Month Award for January 2005 for this achievement. SEO & WEB CONTENT DEVELOPER - CMYK MULTIMEDIA PRINTECH LTD, THE PIONEER February 2003 - October 2003 (based out of New Delhi) This was when I transitioned from journalism to web content development. I started as a content developer but gradually led the content team to deliver timely online marketing content for clients. I also interacted with clients to understand and shape their ideas, and reflecting them on their websites and portals. In this capacity, I designed, developed, and edited contents for the websites and portals of the IndianOil Corp, ONGC, and the Punjab Government. FREELANCE JOURNALIST - THE STATESMAN September 2000 - January 2003 (based out of Kolkata) I wrote regularly for the supplements carried by The Statesman in Kolkata. I also wrote for the Bengali daily, Pratidin. INTERN - ZEE NEWS March 2002 - August 2002 (based out of Kolkata) I interned with the Zee News in Kolkata, post my completion of the PGDIP in Mass Comm. In this capacity, I assisted senior editors and journalists in developing news capsules on various subjects such as health, politics, police, and lifestyle.
