As a part of input team my main role was to ensure co-ordination between the production team, NLE (non-linear editing), Output, GFX department and Promos team to ensure that a complete news story with all the story elements goes on air.  Provide accurate content to output desk and help them with news content and background research on the news.  Doing a follow-up of important stories along with expected reactions and bytes (Government / political reactions)  Assigning stories to reporters and asking for specific inputs (exclusive story angle)  Day Plan- Chart a complete Day Plan of the Next day (All important stories) after reviewing with the team of reporters.  To map a calendar of important events of the month (e.g. – election dates, parliamentary meets, press conferences)  Keep a tab on agencies like ANI, PTI, Reuters and APTN for news updates and breaking news along with dramatic footage and important byte   Role in the PCR –  Content Editor in PCR- the input editor in PCR has to be on the toes all the time. Monitor the breaking news group and to make sure all the important news breaks first on the channel.  Monitoring on-air content of the channel.  Connecting all the reporters, guests and communication with the director and anchor (Briefing the story) Monitoring other channels (Competition tracking) Another feather in the cap – Investigative Story I was asked to track the French Government and get first reaction of French Government on Bofors Scandal, A story Republic T.V was following. It was a Super – Exclusive story of Republic T.V. I did an extensive research of Bofors scandal, examining all roots of the case and digging up some evidence, I tried to find out all the people involved and tried to track as many people as possible. I called up the French Government and requested them to intervene in the matter. That was the time when Bofors Scam was already a heated discussion in the Parliament. I followed up with the French Government diligently for 2 days. They gave a positive response at the end of second day. The story was broken first on Republic. LTD (SAAM T.V) February 2012 - March 2017, Assistant Producer (News) Saam T.V is a regional infotainment channel based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Role Assigned Senior News Producer –Output Desk  As a senior news producer my main task was to prepare a news bulletin, finalize the headlines and update the top stories on an hourly basis.  To edit and re-write scripts based on the accurate facts and figures.  Assemble the graphics to support the story content. Making the story visually impactful –using sting (montage) live elements, bytes and vox- pop related to the script.  Preparing rundown (news bulletin) for prime-time news slots.  Bulletin producer of one-hour LIVE debate show (political & General Debate)  To Assign a current topic for discussion, research on the topic, guest coordination, assembling graphics to support the Discussion   Task for Input Desk  My main task was to break the story first, before rival channels.  Assigning stories to reporters  Arranging Reporter and Guest Live as per the news  Researching of new story content.  Channel logistics Anchoring  Major prime time bulletins, hourly fast news bulletins and speed news bulletins like top 50 news. Executive Producer (Programming)  Being an Infotainment channel apart from news Saam T.V also telecasts various shows. I was responsible for afternoon slot show called Maharashtra calling.
