My name is Swagath S, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Operations Management through the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) via distance education. I hold a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Electronics and Communication Engineering, which has equipped me with a multidisciplinary foundation in core engineering principles and emerging technologies.
Professionally, I am currently engaged as a Research Engineer at the Engineering Learning Center, Bahrain, working in a remote capacity. In this role, I am actively involved in the design, analysis, and research aspects of multiple engineering projects. My current responsibilities include developing advanced 3D models, conducting structural and fluid simulations, documenting research findings, and exploring new concepts for engineering applications. A core part of my work focuses on sustainable engineering, innovative product development, and performance-driven analysis.
In terms of hands-on experience, I have previously served as a Graduate Apprentice Trainee at the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), a key unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). During my time there, I was part of some of ISRO's most ambitious and critical missions, including the Air-Breathing Propulsion Project, Gaganyaan (India’s first human spaceflight mission), and various stages of the GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle). My contributions spanned a wide range of technical activities such as design and calibration of flight hardware, system-level testing, inventory control, post-flight data analysis, and integration of subsystems. I also gained exposure to high-pressure leak testing (including hydrogen circuits) and vibration testing of propulsion units, verifying results through simulation tools like ANSYS.
My technical project portfolio reflects a strong inclination toward advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and thermal-fluid systems. Key projects I have undertaken include:
• CFD Analysis of a Tilted Flat Body Near Ground Surface – Studied the aerodynamic behaviour and vortex formation in low-altitude flows.
• CFD Analysis of Cavitating Venturi for Dual Fuel Scramjet Engines – Carried out complex twophase flow simulations using ANSYS Fluent, exploring the effects of cavitation on fuel mixing at highMach numbers.
• Design and Analysis of a Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tube – Investigated the separation of hot and cold streams in a vortex chamber through thermodynamic analysis and CFD modelling.
• 3D Design and Structural Simulation of Wind Turbines (VAWT & HAWT) – Developed parametric CAD models and evaluated mechanical performance under varying wind conditions, aiding in design optimization.
• Post-Flight Data Analysis of Liquid Rocket Stages – Participated in collecting and interpreting telemetry and flight data to assess stage performance and engine parameters.
• Integration Drawing Development for L40 and DFS Propulsion Systems – Generated and validated complex engineering drawings for assembly and system integration.
• Research Documentation for a Sustainable Formula 1 Model (2026 Vision) – Contributed to a detailed technical concept focusing on energy recovery, aerodynamics, and sustainable powertrains in motorsport.
I am proficient in using a wide array of industry-standard engineering tools, including ANSYS (Mechanical & Fluent), SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and Easy Plot. These tools support my work in modelling, analysis, plotting, simulation, and optimization across various engineering domains. My engineering journey is driven by a strong research mindset and a commitment to problem-solving in real-world applications. Whether it's designing efficient wind energy systems, analysing fluid-thermal behaviour in propulsion units, or collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams for high-impact space missions, I bring a blend of analytical thinking, technical depth, and creative innovation. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to teach as a Guest Lecturer at a Government Polytechnic College in Kerala, sharing my knowledge in engineering with aspiring students. My work continues to align with the goals of technological advancement, sustainability, and system efficiency, and I am keen on contributing further to cutting-edge engineering and research initiatives in the aerospace, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
