Freelance Copyeditor and Writing Coach

I have been working full-time as a professional freelance copyeditor, proofreader, and
writing coach since 2005. In addition to having written and published more than 30
books, I teach writing craft online via my blog, which has more than 1 million words of
instruction, and critique more than 200 manuscripts a year. I've worked with thousands
of writers, literary agents, and publishers in six continents, critiquing and editing
manuscripts.
I have an online school (cslakin.teachable.com) with more than 5,000 students enrolled
and where I teach master classes, facilitate critique groups, and help writers improve
their skills as writers and editors via go-at-your-own-pace video courses. I also teach at
workshops (online and in person) across the US and now venturing internationally as a
speaker at conferences. I have also set up critique services at conferences and run the
fiction track at the prestigious San Francisco Writers' Conference.
