Key Responsibilities

· Scheduling 2 year medium term mine plans and 13 week plans for West Angelas mine site having annual operational budget of 400M$.

· Mine designs of pits, waste dumps and stock piles and provide direction in pit, dump and road development and rehabilitation.

· Engagement with equipment and fixed plant teams for setting achievable parameters for the plan; identifying and communicating key risks and opportunities for mine production over 2 year horizon; coordination and development of the mining projects and approvals for land clearance.

Projects

Operations Planning and Design

· _Cost Optimization-_Identified gaps and implemented course corrections in the mine plan. This enabled deferral of material movement leading to a saving of 25M$ in capex.

· Improved process efficiency- Upgraded excel based planning system to a simulation based system in collaboration with external consultants; achieved 40% reduction in man-hours required for short term planning.

· Project readiness- Secured approval for two major projects ahead of time by liaising with the Approvals team and Department of mines, WA.

· Business continuity- Led a team of 3 engineers in the preparatory design and contractor management for a 400M$ brownfield expansion project.

· Planning automation- Championed a project to roll out and train 25 engineers in an improved simulation model for truck route optimization.

Resource Management

· Mine Design Optimization- Increased mining inventory by 2 million tonnes by collaborating on improvement project with geology and geotechnical teams.

· Inventory Management- Developed tracking and monitoring mechanism with production team and improved soil inventory by 25%.

· Portfolio Management- Managed the deployment of a fleet of 18 excavator units and 78 dumpers across 12 locations in the mine and ensured continuous supply of iron ore to the crusher with an annual production of 30 Million tonnes.
