Although officially retired I like to keep active and engaged, especially with video production. Currently I am working on my portfolio of videos comprising a large quantity of in-house corporate production programmes in which I was involved, primarily as video editor. I have already produced a full set of DVDs containing the programmes, distributed to colleagues who were also involved, but recently decided that a hard disk based streaming version with subtitles would also be a good idea, and a nice project for me to work on.
I have found the creation of these subtitles to be great fun and relatively easy to do, and it occurred to me there was a market for people doing this on a freelance basis, as virtually every programme is now subtitled. I have all my own equipment for producing this type of content, so all that would really be required would be access to the material and I could start working immediately.
In addition I am a skilled and experienced video editor, having worked for many years in the financial services industry producing sales support, training, and motivational material, usually to very strict deadlines.
My current platform is based around Vegas Pro Version 22 running on Windows 11, although I am already running tests on V23, which is offering some speed and stability enhancements as well some new creative tools.
I originally developed an interest in making programmes to tell stories when I was about twelve years old, and my enthusiasm for this work remains undiminished. I have been extremely fortunate that my work is my hobby, and that my hobby is my work.
