Before we get into it…
A passion for music and sound is where it started; over twenty years, that's grown into a love of content and
audio produc on. I started o by making co ee as an appren ce sound engineer, and worked my way up to
Senior Producer at a na onal radio sta on. I le the world of broadcast to open my own produc on facility,
which eventually led to podcas ng. Whether crea ng podcasts for corporates, or helping startups nd their
voice, podcas ng allows me to use my skillset to tell stories in an original, crea ve way, with a customary
a en on to detail and focus on technical excellence.

Work I’ve Done
5FM
I started in commercial radio as an a ernoon drive show producer for na onal radio sta on,
5FM. I was later promoted to the posi on of Sta on Senior Producer, a role in which I cra ed
the sta on produc on into a cohesive sound, and managed the produc on department
personnel and studios. I was also part of the team that ideated on-air promo ons.
1998 - 2005
RPM TV
I le 5FM to pursue another passion of mine: cars. Star ng at TopCar magazine, I later became
a founding member of weekly TV show RPM TV. I was a writer and presenter, as well as audio
post engineer; I created video and wri en content for the show's website, and occasionally
contributed graphics for broadcast.
2007 - 2017
Layer 3 Sound
In 2007, together with a partner, I launched an audio produc on company, Layer 3 Sound.
Created in the interests of bringing radio sta on-grade produc on skills and sound to ad
agencies, Layer 3 Sound also serviced content and imaging needs for various commercial
sta ons. In addi on, we o ered copywri ng and audio produc on for radio ads, as well as
produc on for podcasts, on-hold messaging, audiobooks and in- ight entertainment.
2007 - 2014
Boston Media House
As a member of the lecturing sta at Boston Media House, I oversaw the nal year of the
college’s radio course. I designed, planned and executed lectures on mul ple aspects of radio
and broadcast. Schedule constraints meant I had to reluctantly leave the posi on in 2015.

Done By 1 Media
S cking with my habit of crea ng companies with numbers in their names, a er the demise of
Layer 3 Sound I opened Done By 1 Media. The company brought together my skills as a media
prac oner, and o ered clients a complete content crea on service - from concept to nished
product. Clients included audi ng rm Deloi e and supercar maker Lamborghini.
2015 - 2019
CliffCentral.com
In 2019, I signed on as Head of Produc on for South Africa’s pioneering podcast company,
Cli Central.com. The role combines my exper se as an audio and content specialist, with the
added responsibility of helping nd and develop new business.
