Sileola Akintaju

My name is Sileola Akintaju, am a trained dental surgery technician graduated from Kwara State college of health technology Offa, with a Distinction. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with dentists and patients to support the delivery of quality oral healthcare. My journey into dental health started from a deep interest in both clinical work and helping people feel better especially when it comes to something as personal as their smile and comfort.

Over the course of my training and professional experience, I’ve assisted in a wide range of procedures, including tooth extractions, fillings, scaling and polishing, and minor oral surgeries. One of my main responsibilities is ensuring that every instrument is properly sterilized and ready for each procedure, which I take very seriously because I know how much patients rely on us to create a safe and hygienic environment.

I’m also skilled in taking dental impressions, preparing dental materials like alginate and zinc oxide, and supporting the dentist throughout each stage of treatment. I enjoy staying organized and paying attention to small details from setting up trays correctly to ensuring patients are comfortable and reassured.

Beyond the clinical work, I also handle administrative tasks such as booking appointments, keeping accurate patient records, and using dental software. I’m confident working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and I always try to create a calm, friendly space for patients especially those who are anxious or nervous.

What I love most about this profession is how every day brings a new opportunity to make a positive difference. Whether I’m educating a patient about oral hygiene or assisting during a surgical procedure, I’m always focused on providing the best support possible. I work well in a team, take feedback with humility, and constantly look for ways to grow and improve.
