Hi, I have an advanced training in economics with statistics, econometric modelling and mathematics (linear algebra) as core skills. I have academic qualifications from reputed institutions from India and am currently working as a teacher of economics. While I am already in a job, I wish, I can learn new things and remain updated on skill needs of the market related to economics, data analysis and work from home opportunities through this online platform. Learning through my part-time engagements in consultancies, data analysis work and such similar activities also give me a lot of satisfaction and a sense of involvement.
I have several years of experience in academic writing, data analysis and data mining work using popular software packages like Stata, SPSS, R, Excel. I am acquainted with writing styles such as APA, MLA and Oxford. However, I have worked on assignments requiring mixed styles and learning new things is not a hindrance for me.
I have already worked as consultant with reputed organisations such as ActionAid, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Commonwealth Education Fund (CEF), United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC), Global Call for Action against Poverty, International Budget Partnership (IBP), several universities in India and many other reputed organisations. Many of such consultancies involved data collection and analysis work, report writing, data mining and report writing tasks.
I have also worked as a teacher and instructor in business statistics, managerial economics, econometrics, and have provided training on data analysis, use of statistical packages such as SPSS, R and excel, budget analysis, research methodology and other relevant topics. I have provided trainings to participants in several countries including, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Ghana, China, Sri Lanka, Nepal etc.
I have also written or co-authored several books and monographs. A couple of these worth mention here are,
Rhetoric and Reality of MPLADS By Siba Sankar Mohanty CBGA 2004
Food for Thought: Analysis of Agriculture Financing in Afghanistan By Siba Sankar Mohanty and Bahman H. Takween Actionaid International, ELBAG, 2010
Uttarakhand: Diagnostic Study of Building a Mountain State 2000 to 2010, by Chaturvedi, Mohit and Mohanty Siba Sankar (2011), Report by GIZ-RED
I am interested in all activities related to understanding realities through data analysis. This includes data mining, data analysis, data conversion, interpretation of data analysis results of statistical packages, report writing, linear programming, game theory applications and so on. I have a deep sense of respect for deadlines and I shall make all possible efforts to meet the deadlines.
