Shreena Nepal

I am a content creator, researcher, and law student passionate about leveraging media and research to advocate for social change and I am currently pursuing a BA.LLB at Kathmandu School of Law, I have combined my legal studies with a focus on content creation and research to amplify critical societal issues.

In my role as a content creator, I have worked on a variety of projects that blend storytelling, advocacy, and media. I have created articles, digital marketing content, and short films, collaborating with organisations like Upaya Technologies and Global IOT Nepal. These experiences have honed my creative skills and deepened my understanding of how content can influence public perception and drive awareness on critical issues such as reproductive health, gender-based violence, and period poverty.

My research experience is extensive, shaped through academic and professional roles. As a Research Intern at Pro-public and Nepal Heritage Recovery Campaign, I gained valuable insights into legal research, policy analysis, and social justice. I have contributed to public interest litigation (PIL) cases and been involved in several advocacy campaigns where research played a central role in formulating strategies. For instance, as a campaign leader for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, I helped bring attention to critical issues like the regulation of acid products, which led to stronger legal protections.

In addition to my research work, I have also contributed to gender justice projects. As a fellow in the Feminist Memory Project, I researched organisations working for gender justice in Nepal, gaining in-depth knowledge of the legal and social frameworks that support women’s rights. This work has enhanced my ability to analyse complex social issues and produce research-driven content advocating meaningful change.

My media experience also includes public speaking and presenting. I served as a Program Presenter at Radio Janata, which strengthened my communication skills, allowing me to connect with audiences and present important issues in an engaging way. Additionally, I have directed short films and worked as a content creator for various projects, blending creativity with social advocacy to raise awareness.

With a strong background in content creation and research, I am dedicated to continuing my work in social justice and media. I aim to inspire change and advocate for issues that matter.
