Introduction
My Backstory
Born and raised in Sikkim—a quaint little region at the foothills of the Himalayas in North-East India. Graduated from
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (2014) with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering.I have over a year's
experience in content writing. Areas of interest include catalogue, product descriptions, blog posts, technical reviews,
USPs, and copy editing. I've also worked on SEO blurbs and keyword research. Some of the clients I've handled include
Bajaj Financial Services, AJIO, Quikr, HolidayIQ, ICICI, Kaya, Shopmonk.
Writing started in school for me. I contributed to magazines and newsletters mostly. I would occasionally write short stories
in my personal diary. Well, this kept going on until I graduated. It was only when I joined a content startup that I realised
about making a living off writing. I already had the gift; all it needed was some polishing.
Training and Projects Undertaken
Eventually, I landed up at an advertisement firm. They started by teaching me the basics—voice, tone, flow, title-framing,
body, SEO, keyword research, backlinks, and conclusions. Once I learnt the tricks of the trade, I started working on a wide
scope of projects. The usuals? Blog posts, financial articles, product descriptions, technical articles on career and finance,
fashion & lifestyle USPs, and articles on businesses and services. Except for USPs and product descriptions, almost all
the articles requested by clients required keyword research on Google Adwords, backlinks, plugs, and images.
Areas Of Expertise
My writing revolves primarily around articles that require research. These include IT, healthcare, career, and education. I
have also worked extensively on USPs, product descriptions, reviews, blog posts, and website content.
Objective
As a 26-year-old, I am living a double life on the internet. I not only demand premium content, but also believe in its
constant supply—the balance should always be maintained without any slip-ups. I'm connected to the virtual space on a
daily basis which reveals to me what sells and what doesn't, the latest technological advancements in science &
technology, and the behaviour of the internet population. I combine all three and try to write accordingly.
To All—Potential—Clients...
I'd love to work with you on your project and showcase what I can do. Of course, I'll strive to grow your business with all
the knowledge and skill I've harboured so far. Not only am I looking forward to contributing, but also expecting a seamless
collaboration between you and me so that I too benefit from it as a writer. Besides, there is always room for improvement
and variety which is why I take my clients' requirements and feedback seriously.
Please do reach me on my number if you have any questions or wish to view my samples.

Interests
I'm always on the lookout to learn and better myself at anything that gets my attention. My recent interests are cooking,
music, and writing. I am also a huge fan of Liverpool Football Club an follow their developments daily. But if someone asks
me, "What is it that you love the most?", I'd say, "Swimming". I've been in love with water ever since I was in lower
kindergarten. I've represented my school, college, and state in many tournaments. Yes, the satisfaction of finishing on the
podium is gratifying, but it still doesn't beat the cool feeling that encapsulates the body—after a dive— on a hot summer
day.

1. Jackpot
Seat number 13, fifteenth row, Meghdoot theatres—this would be Pappu’s usual retirement spot after a hard day’s work.
He’d finish up cleaning his boss’s Pushpak Vimana—a 30-year-old bus named after Ravana’s aircraft that plied
passengers to and fro between Bangalore and Mysore; calculate the day’s earnings and hand it over—with the keys—to
Veerappan by 9 pm. Pappu had been an enslaved bus conductor on Veerappan's tourist bus. He’d do this everyday only
to catch the late night show dubbed ‘Kaha Phas Gaye’ at 10pm which had been featuring for the past 2 years. Of course,
Pappu wasn’t crazy as there was reason why he’d been watching the same flick over and over. Somehow, the
protagonist’s deplorable condition was similar to his—overworked, underpaid, mistreated, and usually beaten up by his
boss’s goons if he’d make a mistake. Unlike the fairytale ending of the movie that’d display the protagonist winning a
lottery and walking off into the sunset, Pappu’s fortune would be determined by his gutsy confrontation with Veerappan.
“I’m going to ask him to pay me in full”, murmured Pappu to himself as he walked at a hurried pace towards his boss’s
house. He could hear his heart throbbing in fear and an unimaginable force slowing down his strides as if it were telling
him to stop being cynical. But he’d had enough of the injustice and wanted freedom once and for all. “You’re late”,
screamed Veerappan as Pappu reached his doorstep. “Get the keys and get out of my face” was his next scornful remark.
“Give me my money”, replied Pappu with all the courage he could muster. He looked straight into his boss’s eyes which
itself spoke of his right to be paid. “Oh! So, you need money?”, spoke Veerappan with a grin as he descended the
staircase,”You will be paid in full. Let me call my boys; they’ll take care of you.” At this point, Pappu could see his anger
and knew that it would be set upon him soon enough through Vellu and Pillai—two of Veerappan’s goons who did the dirty
work for him. The way he saw it, he had two options—get the beating of his life and continue serving or make a run for his
life. It was simple—he chose the latter. But he wasn’t going to run away like a coward. He had the most gutsy idea—steal
his prized Pushpak Vimana. Without a moment’s hesitation, he grabbed the keys, and made a dash for the bus. Neither
Veerappan, nor his goons could catch up to him on foot. He was relieved to escape their clutches but was in further
trouble as all he knew were turning the ignition and stepping on the gas. The only possible option would be to crash it. Of
course, his plans to sell it off and make some money would be in tatters but it’d be incomparable to freedom. This thought
gave Pappu an adrenaline rush. He fastened his seatbelt and braced for impact. And like all car crashes, it was quickly
over. Luckily, he emerged out of the crash with a couple of bruises and cuts. His head was reeling from the sudden impact
so he sat down on the floor, his hands on his head, and eyes fixed on the mangled remains of the bus, trying to get a grip
of reality. But there wasn’t any time to waste. He knew that Veerappan could be on him pretty soon. He bent down further
and reached for the driver's seat to grab his jacket. Little did he know that Veerappan would stash his gold jewellery below
the seat as he’d always doubt the security of his manor—Pappu had struck gold; and lots of it. He could not believe what
he witnessed. Twenty golden biscuits reflecting its pure hues in the sun. Pappu knew that selling a single biscuit would
give him ten times the amount of his two year’s of service. He knew he was rich. He knew his life was never going to be
same again. “Hey! Get up! The movie’s over”, shouted the usher as a blinding beam of light dissipated the golden light
emanating from the jackpot—he knew it was all a dream.
2. Movie Review: Saturday Night Fever
Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta and Karen Lynn Gornei, is directed by John Badham. It was a commercial
success, which marked John Travolta as a superstar. The title song is still as famous as it was at the time of its release.
The movie took music to another level with the popularization of the disco music. Saturday Night Fever is a story of
Anthony Tony Manero, who lets himself loose on the dance floor every Saturday. The mundane routine, slogging job and
cribbing parents make his life hell. Tony and his close group of six friends always stayed together and hanged around the
town. Annette is the lady of the movie, who wishes to have a more intimate relation with Tony. He agrees to be her dance
partner at a dance event. But her happiness is short lived as Tony is attracted towards Stephanie, who is an extraordinary
dancer, during the course of Dance competition. Stephanie initially relents but is gradually convinced and agrees to have
only professional relation with him. In the meantime, Gus is confronted by a group of Hispanic people and it is believed to
be a racial attack. Whereas, Annette, on the other hand, being extremely disturbed, acts as an alcoholic and engages in
sex with everyone. Stephanie and Tony win the first position; however, Tony feels it’s a biased decision as the Puerto
Rican couple had performed extremely well. He hands over the trophy to them and walks off. A great range of interesting
and unpredictable incidents are in store leading to an exciting climax.
