I have 16 years experience across the HR generalist field. Currently, I am involved in freelance consulting both in the HR field as well as academics.

I have extensive experience in recruitment including screening and sourcing of candidates, competency based interviewing, developing selection strategies using interviews and psychometric testing scores as the basis for selection decisions, on-boarding and induction as well as conducing ‘stay’ interviews. I have recruited across different industries.

In addition in the course of my HR career and more recently in consulting, I have implemented the performance management process, managed career path discussions, implemented talent management strategies. I also have in-depth IR experience including assisting and coaching management in handling disciplinary hearing, chairing hearings and handling general conflict situations. I have been involved in dealing with highly unionised staff and managed potential strike situations as well as wage negotiations. I have also done this across various industries.

I completed my Masters in Business Administration in 2015 and I am currently completing my PhD in Philosophy with Wits Business School. My estimated date of completion is February 2021. I have completed my BTech in Human Resources Management  with UNISA in 2005 .  

My key focus has been providing an effective HR service to all levels of the organisation, while functioning as a key business partner, to ensure that the business objectives are met. It is my belief that a people centric approach in a company makes a huge contribution to its overall performance.

My key strength is my strong knowledge of HR practices and how to effectively apply this to the business environment. In particular, the aspect of HR that I enjoy is the implementation of the HR strategy and being able to see tangible business results. My key competencies include being highly organised and detail oriented and efficient in terms of time management. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills and I am comfortable to take initiative and provide leadership in all HR related matters. I take a strong sense of responsibility and accountability for the credibility of the HR function.
