English Feb 2012 - Assistant Manager PMO Feb 2014 Telenor Pakistan Urdu • Established the first successful PMO at Telenor Pakistan’s Technology Division and supported complete RAN Network Swap Project, on time and within cost (13 months / US$ 250 million) by providing expertise and support to the regional project teams as well as directing vendor(s) and other departments to align the overall project activities to project plan. • Setup the Financial Reconciliation and Control processes with Business Planning and Operations departments to ensure 100% control over timely Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Invoices and Payments for the Network Swap Project. Led a team of highly motivated, energetic and competent financial management specialists to ensure full financial control for the project. • Enabled the operations team to re-use obsolete equipment from swapped sites as spares for approximately two years till the complete legacy network was swapped out. Led to immense savings for Telenor from the expense and complexity of ordering spare parts for obsolete equipment and to keep the legacy network functional till it was swapped. Punjabi network functional till it was swapped. • Created a revenue stream of ~ US$ 5.0 Million by developing the process(s) for obsolete Network Equipment disposal. Disposed equipment from ~7600 sites and 180 BSCs with complete financial documentation, payments, dismantling and reverse transportation, warehousing and disposal according to HSE guidelines. • Reduced Quarterly Budget CAPEX variance (underutilization) from 37% to <7% by overseeing the Network Rollout Process Improvement Project. Network Rollout being the largest CAPEX activity of the division every year since start of company operations in 2005. Reduced overhead costs, delays and financial mismanagement and delivered 100 % results in Pilot Project comprising of 100 BTS sites, installed on time, and within the budget. Obtained SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT certification. • Full HSSE compliance by all vendors for Network Swap Project. Engaged relevant department and vendors to formulate and ensure HSSE requirements and compliance by vendors as per standards set by Telenor Pakistan. Feb 2005 - Assistant Manager Site Acquisition Jan 2012 Telenor Pakistan • Fastest Network Rollout for Telenor in Pakistan by delivering the first milestone of land acquisition; made possible by timely execution of legal contracts & negotiations, documentation, technical site surveys and selection, for approximately 3000 BTS sites. • Universal Service Fund Pakistan’s first project that was delivered on time by a Telecom Operator was GSM Network Coverage of Cholistan Desert, Bahawalpur. Engaged Provincial Government and Cholistan Development Authority stake holders to create the mechanism to acquire 30 odd sites in Cholistan Desert to deliver GSM Information and Communication Facilities to the residents. Total monetary contribution from USF was US$ 7.0 Million. Project delivered One month ahead of schedule. • Negotiated more than 50 legal disputes in out of court settlements with land owners to resolve conflicts in the most efficient manner. • Maintained a high standard of operations on more than 3500 BTS sites by actively engaging, negotiating and resolving disputes with land owners to make sure no more than 5 sites were ever in-operational at a time, during a period of 5+ years. • Effectively handled the armed forces, local government, security and intelligence agencies, airport authorities, private building owners, etc, to ensure sites were legalized and approved timely to ensure no site was constructed illegally and was not under threat of demolition. Saved the company approximately 12.5 Million Rupees by providing accurate records and proof of legality of sites and negotiating successfully with the army for sites falling in their land jurisdiction. • Successfully achieved rent reduction by re-negotiating long term leases with site owners leading to immense OPEX savings for the company. Dec 2003 - Project Coordinator (Single Point of Contact) Jan 2005 Pakistan Tobacco Company As Project Coordinator and Single Point of Contact for all stakeholders, maintained consistent project progress by persistent follow up, project monitoring and control, issue resolution and effective communication to ensure timely rollout of a landmark Information System called BATLEAF, enabling the company to automate and track the leaf growing, buying, storage, logistics and blending processes. The system allowed the company to acquire and track 25 million kilos of tobacco in the first season after BATLEAF deployment.
