I grew up in a family of teachers and learnt quickly that it is a commitment that cannot be taken lightly. It is with this attitude that I planned to teach first to gain more experience in the world and in the working world, which is why I travelled to South Korea to be an English teacher to foreign students. Through my time in Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Macau I have only come to realise and accept how much I love being a teacher to second language students and have enjoyed growing within this expertise area. It has been an experience that has been worthwhile to me – a different work ethic has been learned. Naturally, the travelling experience gave me whole new perspective on life, the world and the people around me. It is for this reason that I wanted to continue my journey as a teacher in a foreign country, I have so much more to learn and see. Vietnam showed me just how much I love my students and being a traveling teacher – which is why I would like to continue on with my career in this field which is also why I am currently studying my PGCE and should be complete in 2024.
