My experience in the editorial field goes further than just writing and editing articles. It includes:
• Setting an editorial strategy for publications, and ensuring alignment of this with the overall brand strategy
• Setting and overseeing the tone, content, integrity and quality of a publication
• Overseeing the entire editorial process – creative reviews, editorial planning, contributor management, subediting and proofing
• Contributing editorial content for use in publications, social media, newsletters, blog posts, online articles (feature articles, news snippets and informational pieces)
• Overseeing the entire production process – planning sheets, coordination of work assignments, workflow management and sign off of final product
• Leading the entire editorial, design & sales team - overall management of team, team development initiatives and facilitating effective intra team communication and involvement
• Full budget management and control, adherence to all financial policies and measures
• Production of fashion and food photography shoots – from story boarding the shoots, to prop hunting, choosing models, liaising with venues for use of their space etc.
• Managing the editorial assistant and online editor
• Going to all media events
• Working closely with advertising staff on editorial ideas/sales pitches in order to increase advertising sales
