My current job description as a news reporter and script creator is as follows:

Creating ideas for features and stories, as well as pursuing leads from the public, press conferences, news organizations, and other sources, and submitting them to editors.

Engaging pertinent information sources, such as the internet, archives, databases, etc., to do research, verify, and compile evidence and facts to support a story.  

creating headlines, reports, and bulletin scripts

 Choosing proper settings for photos, sound, and video, and using editorial judgment to choose the best way to approach a story.

Locating the resources required, deploying, and controlling the technical crews—such as the camera and sound crews—used for location shooting.

Creating comprehensive broadcast packages.

Creating and delivering content for life and pre-recorded parts of the broadcast.

Locating possible candidates, developing interview questions for them, and interviewing them both live and on tape.

Putting together the finished product in collaboration with the editor.

Comprehending and abiding by industry norms of behavior and media law.

Determining the timings for each news segment and keeping an eye on them during transmission.
