I am Abditam Shaban, a results-oriented Accountant with over 16 years of hands-on experience in financial management, donor compliance, and strategic project coordination. I currently serve as an Accountant at Mpigi District Farmers Association (MPIFA), where I oversee multi-donor project finances, implement internal controls, and guide cross-functional teams toward financial excellence.
My professional journey spans work with NGOs, community-based organizations, law firms, and enterprises, enabling me to develop a deep understanding of grant management, tax compliance, financial reporting, and ERP system implementation. I’m particularly skilled at developing financial manuals, setting up systems, and training staff on compliance and reporting standards.
Over the years, I have led financial operations for donor-funded projects supported by institutions such as UNDP, World Bank, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, US Uganda Mission, and Vi Agroforestry. I’ve helped secure funding through proposal budgeting and donor pitching, while simultaneously building technical capacity among grantees and improving their financial literacy and accountability.
In my role as Finance and Grant Officer (Volunteer) at Upcycle Impact Tours and CFO at Gewuza Foundation, I’ve managed finances, led recruitment, developed internal documentation, and participated in strategic decision-making for social and environmental impact projects.
I am proficient in QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel), SPSS, and other financial tools. My work ethic is built on transparency, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. I am also a scholar at ICPAU and a member of the Makerere University Business School Finance Association and Uganda National Farmers Federation.
