I have over 10 years of experience as a Software Developer, primarily doing web development using php. I've learned a lot of the years and continue to learn new things every day. That is probably my favourite thing about programming, is discovering new things. New Tools, new packages, new methods of structuring your code and on and on!

I was intruduced to Laravel framework a few years ago and I love it!! I use it every day at work and have used it for many personal projects. I even recently developed a few composer packages that can be used with it. ( https://github.com/sdavis1902 )

A couple years ago I decided to try Vim and see what all the fuss was about. When I first started, I was opening vim to edit a single file and opening it in additional terminal windows to edit additional files. Vim can have a steep learning curve. But I stuck with it and learned about more of it's functionality over time. I now use buffers to edit multiple files and use varous plugins, CTRLP being my favourite. Additionally, I recelty started using byobu ( a tmux and screen wrapper ), so that I can be working on multiple projects and the command line, all in one terminal window. I was very excited the day I discovered byobu!!

While working at a previous job, we where getting a very strange error that we just couldn't figure out. At some point we decided to try using Nginx instead of apache and for whatever reason, this solved the problem. So, we then decided to switch all our web applications to use nginx and I was tasked with doing most of the work. I haven't used apache since, professionally or personally. I love Nginx!!!
