EA to CUOs of Insurance & Reinsurance
Convex, Contract
C 07/2019 - 03/2020 e The Scalpel, London
Instrumental in getting Convex set-up from a PA perspective, being a
start-up company back in 2019. I was recruited as the second EA to
Cindy Henderson (Head EA,) who was the only PA looking after
everyone including her boss, Paul Brand, Group CEO & Co-Founder of
Convex. She needed me to come onboard quickly to take the huge
weight off her shoulders. We were the only 2 EAs in the business for
quite a while before more started to join to assist.
Thus, I was appointed initially to look after Doug Howat, CUO
Insurance & Matt Paskin, CUO Reinsurance, as well as their teams. I
have therefore covered the 121 PA needs of many people throughout
the business
Therefore, as well as managing Doug Howat & Matt Paskin's CUO
diaries, the most difficult part of this job was orchestrating & keeping
on top of worldwide travel for over 20 people in the business at any
one time. Per year, I would manage between 70-120 different flight
paths/trips from conception to completion (including taxis, transfers,
hotels, expenses etc.) Reed & MacKay was our principal travel agent.
Travel for the Reinsurance Team was particularly complex due to the
nature of their business. One trip could consist of 3-4 stops in
different countries (or) states when in the US.
Specifically for Matt Paskin, CUO Reinsurance: ★ Monthly travel
coordination to Bermuda for the General Executive Committee ★
Extensive worldwide travel to Geneva > Zurich > Italy > New York >
Tokyo > Monte Carlo > Boston > Colorado > US at large ★ Fully
responsible for entire Reinsurance conference scheduling i.e. CIAB
(Colorado,) Monte-Carlo Rendez-Vous de Septembre & Baden-Baden,
Germany ★ Responsible for organising attendance of Re Team to
other conferences: Willis Re, Guy Carpenter, Chubb Re, ABA, MPLA,
NCCI, NAMIC, APCIA, PLUS etc. ★ Fully responsible for all his
expenses using Expensify ★ Full diary management, including
getting broker meetings in, regular internal 121s, team meetings,
breakfasts, lunches, dinners ★ In charge of logging all visitors
throughout the main Re Visitor season Oct-Jan each year ★
Responsible for booking in all his Japanese clients during his Tokyo
trips ★ In charge of the daily UK Re and Bermuda Re team meetings
★ As well as the GEC Meetings, had to ensure Matt attended the right
Re Board Meetings too ★ Full coordination of Reinsurance AwayDays in London hotels, including full catering & evening entertainment.
