Essentially both roles have to be 1 or 2 sprints ahead of the Dev team. The daily responsibilities included Prepping a planning stories for upcoming sprint on mobi •Elicit requirements from stakeholders (Product Owner and users) •Competitor research for best practice and benchmarking purposes •Gain clarity from developers around effort and tasks required for a story •Gaining insight from interviews of users (e.g. sitting with “Feet on Street” employees to run through the process of their day to day activities, understanding challenges they face and the opportunities to make these more efficient) •Travelling to employers for User Research with the Harambee research team i.e. Observing the employers in their environments to ensure that no assumptions are made in the design of the portals (User Centred Design requires observation of the users in their environment which gains deeper insight into their processes, their habits, their needs and also whether they would actually use the product we are designing regardless of what they ‘say’ they would use) •Using mental models or simply drawing up some flows and rough mock ups and taking the developers and the Product Owner through the flow and the requirements to ensure that we are aligned with regards to the flow and the requirements of the following sprint •Drawing up the reviewed flow using Balsamiq so that the wireframes are clear and finalised, reviewed by Product Owner and developers and these are shared with the team so that everyone in the team is clear and aligned on process, look and feel. •Continue with user research for upcoming sprints- creating questionnaires and capturing candidate information so that tests are designed to test theories regarding invite days or other assumptions being made about the effective throughput of candidates. •Testing reviewed stories (just generally trying to break things) •Facilitate planning, reviews etc. Project Period Role Barclays Africa Digital Channels August 2015- November 2015 Digital Consultant Samantha is currently placed at Barclays Africa Digital Channels division to be a part of the “Innovation Incubator” team as the Digital consultant, driving the Digital offering of IQ Business and bringing value through integrated User Experience methodologies alongside Agile methodologies and ceremonies. Here Samantha is expected to drive different facets of the innovation hub from research to user experience design and testing to ensure an efficient and streamlined turnaround time and product release. Samantha is acting as the proxy product owner within the innovation incubator which aligns to her business analysis and project management skills on a daily basis. Project Period Role JSE June 2015-August 2015 Junior Business Analyst Samantha was placed at JSE as a business analyst within the Valuations Input System team where she worked on the analysis and alignment of requirements across the ITAC programme which incorporated a number of streams across the JSE. Here Samantha worked closely with the Post -Trade and Information Services area as the VIS is an internal system based solely on the requirements of this area.
