Tech: Design and Control of Single Stage Solar Photo-Voltaic Grid Interfaced System [Nov 2018-May 2019] • A three-phase single stage grid interactive solar photo-voltaic (SPV) system has been simulated using SimPowerSystems toolbox of MATLAB. A second order generalized integrator-quadrature (SOGI-Q) based control algorithm, is used to generate pulses for voltage source converter (VSI) of SPV system. Simulated results have shown the satisfactory performance of the system under variable insolation, linear and nonlinear loads connected at point of common coupling (PCC), compensation of load harmonics and unbalance, and maintaining the unity power factor (UPF) in the utility grid. Moreover, it is found that the SOGI-Q based control algorithm has better DC offset filtering capabilities as compared to conventional controls.
