Present Work Order: Charging Cask Transfer System A 15 Te Charging Cask is required to be aligned with the Transfer Port Assembly embedded in the Cell wall of processing cell. Due to limitation of approach of the available crane in the area, a charging cask transfer mechanism has been designed to achieve the required objective. The concept involves lateral transfer of charging cask from its loading/unloading station to charging axis of the processing cell. This has been achieved by design of trolley on rails driven by ball screw-based drive unit which supports the charging cask dolly. Assignment completed: 1. Transfer cart: This job is successfully design fabricated for capacity of 25 ton load for BRIT(Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology) which contains strong structural platform, Worm geared drive mechanism, cable roller assembly, and control panel for remotely operation. 2. Pencil Cutting Machine: This machine is designed for cutting radioactive SS pencil having ball screw, guide shaft, flange and holding chuck, Motor with VFD controller and bevel gear arrangement. Hence machine is fully automatic for its use in radioactive glove box. 3. Other jobs: Shock absorber having pipe and plate casing for Portable irradiator. Rotary Fuel Oxidation System.
