I have been in the airline and travel industry for 16 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Tourism from University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines as well. I could say I have immense exposure to the whole process of travel. Right after college, I worked for Philippine Airlines as a Reservation Sales Associate for more than 2 years. The job includes, reservation of seats, tickets, hotels, online ticket purchases, and price and flight information inquiries. It was a great experience learning all those things in one job. My second job was as a Flight Attendant with Japan Airlines. We were required to take advance Nihongo classes apart from our 6-month proper training. The training includes additional Nihongo classes, inflight safety, and service. We had a 1-month training in Bangkok, Thailand for service, and 1-month safety training in Haneda, Japan. We were required to speak and read Japanese especially during the flight. A good take away from Japan Airlines also was the discipline that they have taught us. I could still feel the professional influence until now. Unfortunately, the U.S. recession happened and a lot of businesses were affected. Japan Airlines had to close Manila base and so they had to let us go back in 2010. My next job is also as a flight attendant with Saudi Arabian Airlines. I have been in this company for almost 11 years now. I was also based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for almost 4 years before I was offered to be transferred here in Manila. It was an exciting exposure to a totally different country especially their culture. Half of our routes are domestic flights and the other half we have US, Asia, Europe, and Africa. It is quite an adventure to be experiencing different people, places, and cultures all at the same time while working. It has been a great ride but with the pandemic, as an overseas contract worker, my employment with Saudi Arabian Airlines was temporarily suspended for more than a year now. We don't receive any salary or benefits since we're on suspended contract and we don't have flights. Until now, there's no definite answer if there's a chance that we'll ever go back to work and bills are piling up. I cannot wait anymore especially I have a family to take care of. I hope my work experience, knowledge, and skills could contribute to your company. I also hope that I could jumpstart a home based career in the same industry that have truly loved so long. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
