Roy Wilfred Reginald Mc Gregor

I have 39 years’ experience in Information Technology, dealing mainly with Financial Business Systems, Supply Chain and Mine Technical Systems. Most of my experience has been in the Mainframe environment before the millennium bug, and more recently, in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Information Management.

I am well versed in the Microsoft suite of products. I have gained tremendous experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving, data analysis, requirement analysis, Project Management, and the Systems Development Life Cycle as a whole. I have always maintained a hands-on approach. My strength lies in my ability to stabilise existing systems and design effective enhancements.

I believe that I have good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. I can work well under pressure with the minimum amount of supervision. I enjoy coaching and training others and I strongly believe in sharing knowledge. I consider myself creative, focused, energetic, and outgoing. I have also been exposed to the planning, monitoring and coordination of projects and managing teams.

I am looking for an opportunity to use my development experience to convert business requirements into practical solutions. My ideal job would entail being technically involved with the management and support of data warehouse development projects throughout the delivery cycle from requirements analysis, design, development, testing and post-implementation support. I have a good understanding of Business Intelligence methodologies (Ralph Kimball’s

Data Warehouse Lifecycle) and solution development, specifically in a Microsoft environment.

I would like to continue using SharePoint, Workflow, SQL Server, Visual Studio, SSIS, and SSRS in my line of work.
