The school has a strong focus on technology and pushes its scholars to fulfill their highest potential. My daily responsibilities are many, but center on supporting teachers to foster strong learning environments in their classrooms. I am responsible for supervising over 40 employees. While at OKCPS, I learned supervisory level organization and honed my interpersonal skills. I also learned a lot about the issues families face in getting their students to focus on learning. The school had grown significantly and they were looking for help to run the financial side of the school. At its largest, I helped manage a budget of over 11 million dollars. I learned a lot about fiscal management and accountability. Among other financial duties, I assisted with the three annual audits every year. Oklahoma City Community College-Oklahoma City, OK Recruiter/Admission Advisor, July 2008 – July 2009 -I wanted to maximize my impact on the community, so I went to OCCC to become a college recruiter. College allowed me to change my life and I wanted to take that message to as many students as possible. I recruited students from 22 local high schools while I was there and perfected my presentation skills. Santa Fe South Schools- Alpha Program Oklahoma City, OK Alternative Education Teacher, August 2004-June 2008 -While at Santa Fe South – Alpha, I learned to develop relationships with young people and also worked on my interpersonal communication skills. Being the youngest teacher there, I had to learn to communicate in a way that commanded the respect of others and learned the importance of establishing strong relationships with coworkers.
