I enjoy writing clear, engaging and effective copy for a variety of projects. Pushing myself as a writer has always been important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to grow and expand my skills while creating quality content.Since graduating from Concordia University with a BA in History, my interest in journalism and creative writing has grown and developed overtime. Previously, I worked for seven years as a music journalist for former Canadian music industry trade magazine, RPM. In addition, I have written as a freelancer for multiple publications, including Billboard Magazine and the Winnipeg Sun. During the pandemic, like all good writers, I have been working on the great Canadian novel.
I have always been interested in proposal writing, and my experience has grown considerably during the last year. It takes skill, a deft hand at research and solid communication with involves parties to produce successful proposals. I understand my responsibility as a proposal writer is to pay attention to the details and craft material that conveys the important factors. I approach every project with this attitude effectively relaying the needs of the organization and through original and convincing content.
I have researched and written grant applications for various nonprofit groups and organizations. Within the past year, 75% of the grant applications I wrote and submitted were awarded funding. On the arts side, I have written grant applications for musical artists to government funding organizations such as the Ontario Arts Council and the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Recordings.
I am proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. As an accomplished writer and visual thinker, my creativity has helped create exceptional products. I believe I go the extra mile to ensure that quality work is delivered in a timely manner.
