Introduction
My name is Roland Ahimbisibwe, and I’m a
developer with a penchant for the web, API
design, and systems communication. I like
reading about technology and solving problems
with it.
I started learning how to code in 2012. In 2017, I
graduated from Makerere University with a
bachelor's degree in Statistical computing. After
graduating, I started working remotely as a
backend developer at danapay
(https://danapay.io/), a french company that
helps users send money from one country to
another using blockchain technology, and later
joined at andela (https://andela.com/) a
sa
software engineer, an engineering service startup
that accepts the top 1% of developers, builds
distributed engineering teams who then work
remotely on real-world problems.
I’m currently working remotely as the director of
Ops and Engineering at C-trax
(https://www.c-trax.com/about/), a SASS
company that provides hardware and software
solutions for the Hemp retailers.
Ctrax API (2019–present)
I am currently the team lead for the API ,and I
have personally developed about 90% of the
existing functionality given that we are a small
team.
The API is core of the Ctrax POS system, written
in laravel,mysql and redis and is responsible for;
- Handling authentication for mobile and web
clients.
- CRUD operations for all modules.
- Handles payments using external services like
square.
- Takes care of franchises and multi-store
management.
- Provides customer loyalty.
- Syns up with external ecommerce platforms
like Woo commerce and shopify.
- Back Office management solutions .
Andela Watchtower -)
Watchtower is a tool that helps Andela automate
processes within the D0 programs (Simulations &
Apprenticeships) and helps Fellows contextualize
their progress as they go through the

Danapay (2014 to 2018)
I worked as a full-stack developer at Danapay, a
service that helps users transfer money across
African countries using blockchain
technology(Ethereum). I used web3.js, Express JS,

Ctrax central server (2019 –present)
Ctrax’s central server i s responsible for
registering new clients, pairing IOS Point of
SalesApplications with API, deploying new client
instances to AWS EC2. I personally built the
central server from system design to production.
Laravel, Redis and socket.io to build the transfer
server that was responsible for buying, selling,
and transferring danacoin(Danapay’s currency)
from one account to another.
