I’m Rohan Chakraborty, a musician, composer, and audio editor based between Kolkata and Mumbai. Over the past decade, I’ve worked extensively as a performing guitarist, traversing genres like jazz, fusion, ambient, pop, and Indian classical. My journey started with the guitar, but over time, my curiosity led me deeper into the world of sound—into composition, arranging, editing, and light mixing/mastering.
My playing is deeply inspired by artists such as Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, and Guthrie Govan, and I gravitate toward rich harmonic language, expressive phrasing, and textural soundscapes. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with a range of musicians in both live and studio contexts, and those experiences have shaped my musical identity. Alongside performance, I’ve been quietly building my skills in DAWs like Logic Pro, Pro Tools, and Ableton, working on short films, ad jingles, music videos, and live recordings—handling everything from arrangement and MIDI mockups to final mix preps.
In recent years, I’ve become increasingly interested in contributing behind the scenes—supporting composers and producers in realizing their vision. I enjoy tasks like adding guitar textures, building arrangements, editing vocal or instrumental takes, prepping stems for mix, or simply being a musical sounding board. I believe in collaborative growth and feel that working under experienced professionals allows for meaningful learning while actively easing the production process for them.
I’m also a trained linguist and former English teacher, which brings a level of structure and clarity to my communication and workflow—something I find extremely valuable in creative and deadline-driven environments.
What drives me is the search for emotionally resonant sound. Whether it’s a small guitar line in a larger arrangement or the atmosphere of a short film score, I aim to bring honesty, taste, and intention to every piece I work on. I'm currently seeking opportunities to assist and collaborate with composers, music directors, and production houses—remotely or on-site—in music composition, arrangement, editing, or live guitar performance contexts.
If you're looking for a reliable, musically sensitive collaborator who can contribute across both creative and technical aspects of music-making, I’d love to connect and explore ways we can work together.
