As a writer, editor and proofreader based in Tokyo, I have been producing
text on a variety of subjects for clients in Japan and around the world for
over two decades. I also work with my Japanese partners to provide

I have held several positions at this prominent Japanese business
newspaper publisher.
Copyeditor, The Nikkei Asian Review – I currently copyedit and
write articles for this magazine, on website, magazine and iPad.
Chief News Editor, The Nikkei Weekly – I supervised and trained
a staff of copyeditors, as well as editing articles, writing headlines and
proofreading galleys.

Columnist/feature writer – I wrote the magazine’s science and
technology column for five years; I now write feature articles on business
and technology-related topics.

and photographs for an online travel and culture magazine.
RIKEN – Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, Japan
Writer – I have written a variety of articles, including both short
“Roundup” pieces and longer features and interview pieces, for RIKEN
Research magazine. This often includes translating from Japanese into
English.
Coordinating editor -) – I received scientific reports and
sent them to outside writers to be written into press releases, which I
then edited and sent to RIKEN’s public relations office. I also translated
Japanese materials and wrote them into press releases.
