Brand Development Discussion
Pt. 1
Your brand is what the outside world thinks of you; it’s a collection of impressions you build up over time.
This phase includes discussion and gathering information of the author including the pertinent information,
contacts, enails, pen name if any and any other details needed for the web
Elements Building Author Brand
Identify your reader - need to identify who are your ideal readers.
Develop your brand voice - think about your values, what’s important to you and what you want to represent.
Figure out your USP - Knowing your USP, or unique selling point, is essential if you want to get across to
readers why they should buy your books.
Set some expectations - be clear about what to expect from your publication
Your brand consists of four parts:
Promise: What does your product enable your customers do?
Story: What do your customers need, and how will you provide it?
Values: What is the value others (e.g., customers, investors) see in your product? What do you deliver that is
relevant and different?
Name, look and feel: What are the words and images that are associated with your startup?
Brand Development Discussion
Pt. 2
Brand suggestions and technicalities:
For Daniel, we will have the brand segregated according to the pen names utilized. This way, we will have
distinction on the novels created, the genre of each pen name and will also help fans of the pen name and/or
novel distinguish the publications from rest of the novels
We can have 1 main brand which will contain more detailed information of the author then sub-brands which
will separate the pen names. By doing so, this will also create a certain mystery around the author and all his
work and we can market each pen name separately which will help peek the interest of the audience and fans
For the Author, to create more intrigue around Daniels full list of works, we create a main log/insignia/emblem
which will personalize all works completed. We can use them in the website, social and books. This will also be
a good marketing strategy as it will draw more traffic and engagement.
One liner - this will define Daniel’s expertise as a Fiction Novel writer and will help audience easily identify
them. This can also help fans and audience recognize Daniels’ credentials and share his identity with the one
liner tag.

Website Creation
Pt. 2
Website Creation Process
●
Goal identification: Where I work with the client to determine what goals the new website needs to
fulfill. I.e., what its purpose is.
●
Scope definition: Once we know the site's goals, we can define the scope of the project. I.e., what web
pages and features the site requires to fulfill the goal, and the timeline for building those out.
●
Sitemap and wireframe creation: With the scope well-defined, we can start digging into the sitemap,
defining how the content and features we defined in scope definition will interrelate.
●
Content creation: Now that we have a bigger picture of the site in mind, we can start creating content
for the individual pages, always keeping search engine optimization (SEO) in mind to help keep pages
focused on a single topic. It's vital that you have real content to work with for our next stage:
●
Visual elements: With the site architecture and some content in place, we can start working on the
visual brand. Depending on the client, this may already be well-defined, but you might also be
defining the visual style from the ground up. Tools like style tiles, moodboards, and element collages
can help with this process.
●
Testing: By now, you've got all your pages and defined how they display to the site visitor, so it's time
to make sure it all works. Combine manual browsing of the site on a variety of devices with automated
site crawlers to identify everything from user experience issues to simple broken links.
●
Launch: Once everything's working beautifully, it's time to plan and execute your site launch! This
should include planning both launch timing and communication strategies — i.e., when will you launch
and how will you let the world know? After that, it's time to break out the bubbly.
