Email:-Employment My Degree in applied science allows me to communicate complex ideas in science, business, and
Summary technology. I have been involved in projects that have enabled me to develop industry experience
in marketing, manufacturing, and human centred design. Throughout these projects I managed my
own research, formulated reports, and engaged with stakeholders and clients across various divisions.
My passion for culture and people has taken me all over the world, developing my problem solving
skills while forcing me to be self-motivated and independent. I want to secure a position with an
organization where I can bring immediate and strategic value while developing my skillset further.

New Zealand and USA Based Projects
2015 - Extenday Horticulture - Quality Assurance –Extenday is a premium supplier of advanced
horticultural fabrics supporting the production of better crops to give better results.
The role included determining quality assurance needs while recording, analysing and distributing
statistical information. I focused on: in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications,
assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these were met. I also worked with operating staff
to establish standards, systems and procedures while writing management and technical reports.
2014 - Otago University Sustainable Agriculture – A product designed to move New Zealand farming
towards sustainable development.
Project Design / Communication – I designed and tested a new biodegradable balege wrap that is
more sustainable, efficient and cost effective for farmers. The result was a product that is
biodegradable and edible for animals, making the need to recycle unnecessary. The design was
entered into the James Dyson Awards.
2014 - Menixis - The Menixis Technology employs an elegant method for the quantitative
accumulation of particles in a diagnostic sample for digital imaging in a single field of view, enabling
simplified post-capture identification and analysis.
Product Development / Design Management – I was part of the team that designed stage one of the
Menixis particle separator. The project involved evaluating and producing an innovative fluid cell
developed for imaging, identifying and counting the worm eggs in stool (animal and human) to be
used in the health and agricultural sectors. The device is simple to manufacture and supports the
transmission of images by cell phone to enable remote location analysis (third world countries). This will
greatly simplify parasite diagnosis and improve treatment efficacy by minimizing unnecessary drug
usage. This project had Gates Foundation funding.
2014 - Hone Tuwhare Trust- Hone Tuwhare is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s most
accomplished and treasured poets. The Hone Tuwhare Charitable Trust was established to develop
resources for schools and initiate events throughout Aotearoa that celebrate Hone and his
contribution to the Arts.
Communication / Participatory Design / Graphic Design - This is an approach to design attempting to
actively involve all stakeholders (e.g. employees, partners, customers, citizens, end users) in the design
process to help ensure the result met their needs and was usable. The Hone Tuwhare Trust wanted to
design an academic writers residency in New Zealand. The Trust members took part in a participatory
design workshop, which I designed specifically for them, it focused on addressing the issues around
how the residency was going to be formed, identifying the users and possible structures of the
residency.
2010 / 2013 – Nolan Chiropractic Clinic – Large clinic providing a range of health services.
