About

I am a finance and operations professional with a strong foundation in economics, accounting, and business management, and practical experience across freelancing, startups, and the public sector. I am currently an MBA candidate at the University of the People (USA), where I also serve as an ambassador for MBA students in Kenya. My academic work has focused on the sustainability of small to mid-sized financial institutions, and I have collaborated with multidisciplinary teams from diverse nationalities to address financial management challenges within the African context.

As a remote freelancer, I support businesses by managing general accounting functions and improving cash flow efficiency. My responsibilities include bookkeeping, financial tracking, and reporting using tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, and GNU. Beyond accounting, I work closely with startups to support product development, marketing initiatives, lead generation, and workflow design, helping early-stage businesses build structured and scalable operations.

Previously, I worked as a Partner and Operations Manager at MP Motors & Wellness Ltd in Nairobi. In this role, I led the design and operational management of an automotive e-commerce platform that connects car parts sellers with buyers while facilitating secure financial transactions between both parties. I managed seller onboarding across Nairobi, coordinated the sourcing of hard-to-find automotive parts, and led marketing efforts and follow-ups on generated leads. I also engaged prospective investors, including members of the Small Business Association of Kenya, and led strategic and operational meetings. Additionally, I managed and coordinated a team of six, ensuring efficient execution of daily operations and long-term business goals.

Earlier in my career, I gained public-sector experience through an internship at the National Social Security Fund (NSSF Kenya). During my tenure, I contributed to operational improvements that reduced claims processing time from three months to one month. I also played a role in advocating for the adoption of biometric systems to improve fingerprint processing efficiency. My consistent performance and ability to create measurable value led to three consecutive internship extensions.

I possess strong skills in financial management, bookkeeping, operations management, digital marketing, and data analysis. I am proficient in QuickBooks, MS Office, G-Suite, SPSS, Zoom, and social media tools. My certifications include CPA Level 3, Advanced QuickBooks, Online Marketing, and UI Management. I am fluent in Swahili and proficient in English, allowing me to work effectively in diverse professional and multicultural environments.
