I was then promoted as a chief sub-editor and then became an assistant news editor before being promoted to the post of deputy news editor which I held till I left the newspaper on October 4, 2015. At Business Standard, I had visited Dubai and London on short assignments. I edited and rewrote articles, organised and refined them with the aim to convey the message in the simplest way possible. The articles I had been rewriting and editing over the years included subjects as varied as technology, IT/ITeS, all sciences, all business verticals that are prominent in Bengaluru and Karnataka, and South India. Had also written on CSR and NGOs. I wrote special features and tracked developments in the field like environment, ISRO, aerospace, defence, healthcare, technology-related matter among others. I had a Blog on the Business Standard site, and I used to Tweet on the business developments. I also contributed regularly to a column on the op-ed page called 'Chinese Whispers’.
