PROJECTS Synthesis and Study on Thermal Conductivity and Mechanical Property of Insulating Firebrick with Different pore former Mini project carried out at Alagappa College of Technology in the year of 2017. The Fireclay is incorporated with coal, rice husk, saw dust as performance enhancing additives which during firing burns out producing a pore similar to its size. The fireclay incorporated with coal could be used as an insulating material comparing ricehusk and saw dust. Study on Sic Coated Isotropic Graphite Internship project carried out at CSIR - National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore in the year 2017. Isotropic Graphite is coated with Silicon Carbide by chemical infiltration process. For Sic matrix to be formed Methytrichlorosilane is used as precursor and hydrogen is used as catalyst. The Sic coated Isotropic Graphite is subjected to microstructural analysis and XRD. Designing of Electric Resistance Heating Furnace B.Tech project carried out at Indfurr Superheat Furnaces in the year of 2018. The Electric Resistance Heating Furnace with Furnace Temperature of about 1400℃ and heating chamber size 150mm X 150mm X 300mm (Length X Breadth X Depth) is designed. Silicon carbide is used as heating element and Insulating Bricks and Insulating Fibre Blankets is used for insulation.
