I am a highly versatile professional with over ten year experience in mid-senior management posts, managing complex portfolios and diverse teams. My academic background is astrophysics, in which I have a doctorate, and the majority of my working career to date was spent in the UK Civil Service. I have worked in a diverse set of functions including policy development, strategy, analysis, commercial and legislation. This experience means that I am capable develop specialism quickly in new areas.
For most of my career I have also managed and mentored others. I have successfully led multiple mid-sized, high performing teams, and have experience setting up several new teams. I have managed forecasts and budgets of several hundred thousand pounds. I am an open and personable leader who believes in establishing no-blame cultures in teams that encourage openness. At the same time I am highly results- and goal-oriented, and a proficient project manager.
Most recently, I have worked in the not-for-profit sector in primarily commercial roles, delivering services, managing sales pipelines, leading business development and owning strategic relationships. I have also led a major transformation project for the organisation to enable new functionality for our stakeholders.
